RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) – The honeymoon between voters and Gov. Pat McCrory and the Republican-led General Assembly hasn’t ended.
In a February Civitas Institute poll among 600 registered voters, the governor’s approval rating improved to 46 percent, up from 41 percent shortly after McCrory was inaugurated. In the February poll, only 11 percent had an unfavorable opinion of the governor.
The GOP-led General Assembly also had a major bump. In September, only 36 percent of the registered voters polled by Civitas had a favorable impression of the legislature. That score is now up to 40 percent. However, its disapproval rate is 39 percent.
The Civitas Poll of 600 registered North Carolina voters was taken Feb. 21, 24 and 25, and had a margin of error of plus-minus 4 percent.
